Hey folks, maybe you weren’t aware, but while we were putting on our Ultimate Slash Madness Tournament last month, our sisters over at AfterEllen.com were running their own Ultimate Femslash tournament. And just like last year we’re holding a special grudge match. Call it a #SlashOff. We want to know: in a barroom brawl would our Slash Madness winner (Supernatural‘s Destiel) win out over Femslash Madness winner Rizzles?
Before you blithely say “But of course!” remember that last year’s grudge match had lady fave Faberry from Glee handily beating our champion slash couple, Sterek from Teen Wolf. We’d really like to see a different result this year so come on guys, let’s give those subtext-laden ladies from Rizzoli & Isles a run for their money!
The poll will be open through Saturday September 7 at 11:59pm.
The jazz hands of Glee took out our werewolf/human team last year, but can a pair of detectives take out an angel and a hunter?
C’mon people!! Lets show those ladies just how profound our bond really is!!!
The CW’s Supernatural Facebook page hit a milestone today with an out of this world 10 million fans! Jared and Jensen surprised everyone with a special video (with guest star)*.
*No Winchester brothers were harmed in the making of this video.
Far from the maddening crowd’s ignoble strife,
Their sober wishes never learn’d to stray;
Along the cool sequester’d way of life
They kept the noiseless tenor of their way…

#Supernatural Season 8 starts filming on July 10th and Jensen Ackles will direct the first episode of the season.
Here’s a clip of what is to come on this Friday’s all-new episode of Supernatural!
Why does Bobby always appear to Dean in the bathroom?
Will the brothers be able to take down their greatest foe? Will Dean ever be able to have pie again? Will Bobby get his vengeance? Don’t miss this battle of a lifetime on the season finale of Supernatural.
Back in Black!
“There was a certain line that we couldn’t get past, it was so out of character and horrible,” Ackles explained.
Collins agreed: “There was stuff that was written in that [reunion scene] that was really tough to say.”
“We proceeded to spend the next hour and a half trying to figure it out,” he continued. “The three of us tried to put our minds together on set to say, ‘How can we change this around to make it more believable between these two characters?’.”
Sure enough, the comments raised a lot of flack. Some even cribbed about how the actors had stopped caring for the characters. All those people are basically missing the point. Here is my take on the whole situation…
First and foremost, I highly doubt - no matter what the actors, or anyone else for that matter, think - that Dean was carrying Cas’ trenchcoat with him everywhere about. Don’t get me wrong. I am a Destial shipper and even made a big deal of it in my recap… had Shakespeare’s sonnet dedicated to it, no less. But I can say with conviction that Dean’s having that trenchcoat with him, when he went to see Emmanuel, was NOT Out of Character.
Dean is the sort-of guy who applies more value to objects associated with a person than to the person themselves. It is his way of protecting himself from being hurt. It’s also his way of coping with their loss. Whether it’s his dad’s journal/jacket, his mom’s car (if u recall the Impala was John’s gift to Mary), Sam’s amulet (which he subsequently threw away), Bobby’s liquor flask - Dean pretty much carries his family’s memorabilia with him, all the time. So it’s but natural for him to carry something of Cas’ too. And it’s not because Dean is secretly in love with. It’s because he deeply cared about him and considered him as family.
That said, after losing the Impala, Bobby and finally Sam (to Lucifer induced crazy), it’s quite possible Dean turned to the only “family” he had left… Cas’ trenchcoat… and carried it with to Emmanuel’s (from his house, whence he found out about Emmanuel) as something familiar, something to give him the strength in those trying times. It was a sheer coincidence that Emmanuel turned out to be Cas and the coat, turned out to be much more than just his reminder.
The scene in the ep. would have been OoC if Dean had said anything. Dean is not the kind of person that talks - Sam, Cas are - Dean shows. His handing Cas the coat back can be compared to him handing Sam the demon-knife back in “The End”. It’s his way of saying “I sure as hell ain’t gonna forgive you just yet, and it’s gonna be long long time till I trust you again, but I’m willing to give you a second chance. I want you to be by my side in this.”
